A little way out from the hustle and bustle of town but well worth it if you are looking for complete relaxation, quiet and just wanting to enjoy nature. It was the first time myself and family members have been to North Carolina and Lake Norman. We really enjoyed the week spent in this cozy home on the lake and looking forward to coming back soon. It truly is a Sweet Retreat!

WOW.. what a great time!! Please tell the owners they have a wonderful lake house. Our family loved it and cared for it as if it was our own. We certainly were "Happy" and the adults were in a "Daze"... Thank you! Hope to use again soon!

Our family really enjoyed our week at the cabin by the lake. The weather was beautiful and we spent every evening by the lake fishing. We would love to come back again. Love the wall of photos. We will leave here with so many wonderful memories of our own.

As promised, here are a few pics of the cabin in the snow and one at night through the window from the porch. It was a wonderful place to stay for Christmas....
...it was flawlessly cozy and a terrific place to meet our son from Savannah and friends for Christmas.

Bridgette Barthe’s Story:
The Cottage
It's tucked in the woods nowhere to be seen. The dock in the water, the fish are there, too. Hiding and swimming until we come. The trees all around like a big net. The raspberries and blackberries ready to be picked. The water so silent in the cove, waiting for kid's little toes. The cove is small, but seems as big as can be, with at least five houses hugging the banks.
Under the dock the fish wait to laugh as a girl keeps making mistakes. She is trying to catch them without any luck. Sleeping on the screen porch, the sun raising up. A beach so small that used to seem so big. All covered with toys. The dock is swinging as a boat drives by.
The house nearby with kids making s'mores, as the sun drowns itself until the next day. The fireworks in the sky. The waves are high as we try to get back. Sleepy and happy we pull into the small lovable dock and hop down.
The sun raises up a little later it seems. The boards of the dock hotter than you, sizzling your feet as you fish. The worms are sinking as a fish goes to get it. A boat drives by as my sister jumps in. The dock now moving gently in the waves.
Then the cove is quiet. The trees full of leaves, it is hard to forget the sound of them rustling all around together. As night comes around the fireflies twinkle, as they wink to each other without a sound. The fire burns bright as we sing together.
Berries all picked, the toys all gone. The cove quiet again, as they drive away, from the trees so full and the water so calm. The fish swimming safely now that they are alone. Everything quiet as they look at the cove, wishing they could stay a little longer. They are the last to leave, the small little cove with some much to do. The dock not moving, the water is still. Not knowing who's next to their little home.
To me it is as big as big can be. My second home tucked in the woods where no one can see. As we leave we miss it already. Hoping to come back next year.
